About Us

From Danny Boy to Dicey Riley, Butterfly to Blarney Pilgrim, Woodkerne's renderings of traditional Celtic songs, ballads and dance sets will send you back in time and set your toes tapping! Formed in 2004 by fiddler Adam Sweet and friends have played for audiences from Cairo to California and everything in between. A typical set is a combination of original songs such as "Doolin To Dublin", "Lark O'Blarney", and "Paddy's Welcome" to crowd pleasers such as "Cockles and Mussels", "Irish Rover" and our personal favorite "Brennan on The Moor".

The band's traditional Irish ceilidh sets of jigs, slip jigs, slides, reels, hornpipes, polkas and more, will keep you dancing the night away.

Woodkerne performs a mixture of traditional and modern ceilidh dance music and song. Based in western MA, they are regular performers around town. Woodkerne is an all acoustic band based in the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut specializing in performing delightful music for weddings, parties and more. In addition to Celtic music, the band can perform a mixture of bluegrass, acoustic country and western swing, klezmer, folk and world music. For an additional (small) fee, the band can add musicians and offer a wider range of musical styles, instrumentation and performance opportunities such as Rehearsal Dinners, Jack and Jill's, Reception Dances, Soirees and Transitional Music and much more. Our bagpiper provides an additional traditional sound to add to any special or traditional event, and our DJ completes the evening with dance and party music for any scene.
